Student resources for you!

Your local Literacy Volunteers program

If you have questions or need help now, call us at 401-861-0815, and we can help you find what you need.

Find statewide or national literacy organizations for adults and children

Verizon's Literacy Directory will search for local and national educational programs for adults, children, and people with learning disabilities, and also searches for volunteer opportunities- just plug in a zip code and go!

Local libraries

Your local library is a great place to start. Many libraries have collections of books, videos and audio tapes that will be right for you. Just ask at your local library. Many libraries will also let you borrow education materials and workbooks for longer timeframes. To find the library closest to you, go to the State of Rhode Island's Library Services web site at http://www.olis.ri.gov.

Rhode Island Department of Elementary & Secondary Education

This department has information on education programs, especially how to get a GED. You can call them at 401-222-4600 or go to their web site at www.ridoe.net.

Job related help

There are offices of Network Rhode Island all around the state. They can help you get a job or find the training program that you need. Call them at 1-888-616-5627.
